Don’t forget to sign up for our trip to the AQS quilt show in Lancaster, March 12-14! All money is due by the Feb. 2 guild meeting, but deposits will be accepted and appreciated to hold your spot. As usual, we will have lots of fun with our quilty friends!

Genesee Valley QuiltFest: The Universe of Quilts
Rochester, N.Y.    June 6
$98 per person, including transportation, show admission and dinner on the way home

We’re also offering a trip to the Christ the King quilt retreat, Feb. 6-8. The approximate cost per person will be $250. This is a great weekend at a beautiful country location in Greenwich, N.Y. Consider breaking up the long winter by spending a weekend with friends doing what we love!

Harvest of Quilts XII Show

The Country Quilters Guild will host their Harvest of Quilts XII show, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 27-28, at Pine Bush High School. The theme of the show is “Kaleidoscope of Colors.” Admission is $6 for one day, or $10 for both days. Kids under 12 will be admitted for free.

The guest speaker is Paula Nadelstern, and the show will feature a gallery talk by local quilt historian Sharon Waddell. This NQA-judged show also includes quilts for sale, vendors, demonstrations, door prizes, a block contest, boutique, and AQS appraisals.

The guild will also hold a raffle to benefit Pine Bush HS scholarships. Prizes include a quilt, Quilters Attic gift certificate, and fabric basket. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase.

2014 Empire QuiltFest Wrap-Up

What a great weekend and what a great show! It felt like we all won. Thank you to all members who entered quilts, volunteered to work at the show and guild booth, and participated in the show activities — each of you contributed to the show’s success. Special thanks to QN EQF reps Martha Hadarics, Gwen Heekin, Angie Bess and Ann Pastore for their hard work.
